(Australian Broadcasting Corp.) – The aerial rescue service assisted nearly 8,500 Queensland residents last year, a 13% increase compared with 2023.

This European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) airworthiness directive (AD), ATA 53–Fuselage–Tail Rotor Pylon–Inspection, takes effect Jan. 21, 2025. It revises AD 2025-0017, which EASA released Jan. 14, 2025.

The French Armament General Directorate received the two helicopters, which will enter service with the French Air and Space Force, as part of an order for eight helicopters placed in 2021.

Lockheed Martin delivered five of the Sikorsky helicopters to the Philippine Department of National Defense in June 2024 and five in December 2024. The deliveries are part of a contract for 32 helicopters, with the remaining 22 scheduled to enter service over the next two years.

The Lockheed Martin company has appointed the Sharp Technics K facility at Incheon International Airport (RKSI) in Seoul as an authorized customer support center for the S-92.

This proposed FAA airworthiness directive (AD) would require repetitively inspecting the inclined and horizontal driveshaft flanges and, depending on the results, replacing them. The FAA is accepting comments on the proposal through Feb. 3.

The FAA is seeking comments by Feb. 3 on a proposed airworthiness directive (AD) that would require modifying certain upper-rail rollers and installing a label on each sliding door. It would also prohibit installing affected upper-rail rollers or a door with an affected upper-rail roller. These actions are also specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency AD.

The Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF) has announced new speakers for ACSF Safety Symposium 2025, including keynote Tony Kern, a former US Air Force Command pilot and author. The event takes place Apr. 7–9 at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida.
