VAI praises FAA action to move ahead on AAM

The FAA has issued a final rule regarding the qualifications, training, and operational requirements for pilots and instructors flying powered-lift aircraft that introduces a new category of aircraft. The rule is a key step toward advanced air mobility (AAM) operations, which include air taxis and cargo delivery, becoming a reality in the US National Airspace System. Once the VAI staff has reviewed the 800-plus-page rule, a VAI Debrief summarizing its provisions will be provided to association members.
