The FAA is seeking comments by Jan. 23, 2026, on this proposed airworthiness directive (AD), which would supersede AD 2025-05-09, issued Apr. 4, 2025. The proposed AD would require revisions to the airworthiness limitations section of the existing maintenance manual or instructions for continued airworthiness, as well as the existing approved maintenance or inspection program, as applicable.

This FAA airworthiness directive (AD), which takes effect Jan. 13, 2026, requires repetitively inspecting certain swashplates for cracks and, if necessary, removing and replacing each cracked swashplate. The AD also prohibits installation of an affected swashplate unless it has passed inspection requirements.

The FAA is accepting comments through Jan. 8, 2026, on its draft programmatic environmental assessment for unmanned aircraft system (UAS) package-delivery operations in the United States.

(Greek City Times) – The crew worked with ground teams to rescue an injured hiker from a gorge Dec. 7 near Archanes–Asterousia in Crete.

(KABC) – A Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office crew assisted ground units with tracking and arresting a group of suspected mail thieves who fled from police.

(KUTV) – A search-and-rescue (SAR) helicopter crew from the Utah Department of Public Safety airlifted the skier, who fell down a ravine in Rich County, on Dec. 8 following a 15-hour operation involving multiple ground teams.

The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has determined the probable cause of the incident to be the local controller’s loss of situational awareness, inadequate provision of traffic advisory or safety alert information, and lack of positive control, which nearly resulted in a midair collision.
