(American Homefront Project) – The US National Guard has deployed more than 6,000 soldiers to the Hurricane Helene relief effort. With many roads and bridges knocked out, they are doing much of their work using helicopters.

(Maui Now) – A US Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin crew airlifted two passengers experiencing medical emergencies from the Crown Princess cruise ship Oct. 5 about 50 miles off the coast of Hawaii.

This FAA rule, which takes effect Oct. 31, 2024, adopts miscellaneous amendments to the required IFR altitudes and changeover points for certain federal airways, jet routes, or direct routes for which a minimum or maximum en route authorized IFR altitude is prescribed.
