VAI joins industry groups in supporting Pennsylvania AIR Act By VAI Weekly staff VAI is proud to join the Aviation Council of Pennsylvania (ACP) and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association in support of the Pennsylvania Aviation Investment & Reform (AIR) Act, a forward-looking legislative proposal that would provide long-term, dedicated funding to strengthen the state’s aviation system. The AIR Act, intended to help overcome years of inadequate aviation funding in the state, including workforce and innovation funding gaps, represents an opportunity to ensure that aviation-generated revenues are reinvested where they can deliver the greatest impact while preparing Pennsylvania’s airports and aviation network for continued growth. Pennsylvania’s aviation system delivers an economic impact of $43 billion across 119 public-use airports and 226,000 aviation jobs, according to the ACP. By investing in airport infrastructure, workforce development, safety, and emerging technologies (including vertical aviation, advanced air mobility, and unmanned aircraft system integration), the bill helps position Pennsylvania for the future of flight. Specifically, the AIR Act would create an aviation trust fund that would invest $120 million annually to modernize the state’s aviation system, with monies split between infrastructure and flexible, future-focused programs. VAI is committed to advocating for policies such as the AIR Act that power up the vertical aviation industry, and the broader aviation community, at every level of government—because when aviation thrives, communities thrive.
