A draft executive order from the Trump administration is poised to significantly reshape the way wildland firefighting is conducted in the United States—changes that will directly affect operators and other Vertical Aviation International members who conduct and support aerial firefighting operations.

The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) has renewed accreditation for Life Link III, including its helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft bases in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

(AirMed&Rescue) – Japan’s National Police Agency has received two new H145/BK 117 helicopters from Kawasaki Heavy Industries.

Nonprofit HeliStorm will host HeliStorm 2025, May 30–31, on the grounds of the National Museum of the US Air Force in Dayton, Ohio. The event will feature more than 150 scale radio-controlled helicopters to introduce educators and students to the industry.

The DOD SkillBridge program allows active-duty service members to gain valuable civilian work experience during their final six months of service.

(Australian Broadcasting Corporation) – A helicopter crashed Apr. 17 at Moorabbin Airport (YMMB) in Melbourne, Australia, injuring one person. Fire Rescue Victoria reported that the aircraft crashed to the side of the runway and was leaking fuel.

The FAA will host Drone Safety Day on Apr. 26. The annual campaign, which began in 2019, is dedicated to educating the drone community about the importance of flying safely and highlights the good that drones contribute to our community.
