NSIA report: Sikorsky S-92A, ENZV, Norway, Sep. 25, 2020

SKYbrary is highlighting a Norwegian Safety Investigation Authority (NSIA) accident investigation that determined a loose washer entered the main gearbox and became jammed, resulting in oil leakage and a buildup of heat. The helicopter landed safely after the crew declared an emergency and descended to Stavanger Airport (ENZV) in Rogaland County.

Firefighter develops Heli-Hydrant to speed wildfire response

(Associated Press) – First used in the 2020 Blue Ridge Fire in Yorba Linda, California, the Heli-Hydrant is now at 10 locations across Southern California with 16 more in progress, according to Mark Whaling, a firefighter who developed a small, open tank to help speed helicopter water drops in areas where open-water resources are scarce.
