(Defence Blog) – The US Navy has approved a contract valued at $1.42 billion for GE Aerospace to supply 277 T408-GE-400 engines for the US Marine Corps fleet of Sikorsky CH-53K helicopters. The contract covers multiple production lots through 2032.

The OEM released an emergency alert service bulletin following a Jan. 2 H160 cruise flight in Brazil where the pilots felt significant vibrations before conducting a controlled water landing. The bulletin requires replacement of main-rotor pitch rod ends after a certain number of flight hours.
