University of Iowa (UI) Health Care and Air Methods are opening a new helicopter base later this year in Davenport for air ambulance operator AirCare. The facility will expand lifesaving medical transport services in Iowa’s Quad Cities.

Air Methods has submitted a declaration of compliance with the FAA for a safety management system (SMS) under 14 CFR Part 5, well before the May 2027 deadline.

Airservices Australia, the government-owned company that provides air traffic services across the country, has signed an agreement with Wisk Aero for infrastructure and other support for commercial electric air taxi services.

Comments are due by Dec. 2, 2024, on this FAA proposed airworthiness directive (PAD), which would require checking the operation of the shear-button safety-cap on each applicable collective pitch handle. It would also prohibit installing certain part-numbered collective pitch handles or collective sticks unless operators meet certain requirements.
