Final FAA AD: Airbus Helicopters H160-B

This FAA airworthiness directive (AD), which takes effect Mar. 10, 2026, will supersede AD 2025-07-06, issued Jan. 2, 2025. The updated AD retains the actions required in the existing AD while extending the definition of an affected part to include all serial-numbered nonrotating scissors spherical bearings. The updated AD also prohibits installing affected rotating and nonrotating scissors spherical bearings without first meeting certain requirements.

VAI supports bipartisan ALERT Act to implement NTSB safety recommendations from 2025 midair collision near KDCA

VAI expressed strong support for the Airspace Location and Enhanced Risk Transparency (ALERT) Act of 2026 in a Feb. 20 letter to the US House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. The bipartisan legislation responds to the findings of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) final report on the Jan. 29, 2025, midair collision near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (KDCA).
