VAI Daily Apr. 8, 2025 Final FAA AD: Bell Textron Canada 505 helicopters This FAA airworthiness directive (AD) requires removing all ballast weights from the aft-movable ballast-box assembly and prohibits the use of ballast weights within the assembly, as specified in a Transport Canada emergency AD. The FAA AD becomes effective Apr. 25, 2025. VAI Daily Apr. 8, 2025 Final FAA AD: Airbus AS 332 series helicopters This FAA airworthiness directive (AD) requires inspecting the slide of the control plate of the tail-rotor head assembly for any score, scratch, crack, or corrosion, removing corrosion, and replacing the tail-rotor head assembly, the slide of the control plate, or pitch-control assembly if discrepancies are found. It also requires reporting the results of the inspection. The AD, which takes effect Apr. 25, 2025, also prohibits the installation of an affected tail-rotor assembly, as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency AD. VAI Daily Apr. 7, 2025 Proposed FAA AD: Airbus SA 341G and SA 342J helicopters The FAA is seeking comments by May 22 on this proposed airworthiness directive (AD), which would require repetitively tap inspecting the main-rotor blades and repairing or replacing them, depending on the results.
