AMS Heli Design obtains STC for AW119, AW109E interior upgrades AMS Heli Design, LLC is pleased to announce that it has been granted a Supplementary Type Certificate (STC) by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to allow multiple configurations for Leonardo AW119 MK II and AW109E Power including a newly designed VVIP interior. We are glad also to announce the completion of the retrofit from EMS to VIP of one AW119Kx. Further to new helicopters completions, the new STC allows AMS to change any existing helicopter configuration into VIP, utility, EMS, Medevac or muti role. Thanks to its flexible STC, AMS is now offering a second life to all Leonardo AW119 and AW109E pre-owned helicopters offering the possible retrofit into any new configuration desired. Andrea Girolin, Chief Executive Officer for AMS Heli Design, comments: “I believe this is a milestone STC for Leonardo helicopters since Owners, Lessors, Financiers can now purchase their assets knowing they will be able to resell to the widest possible clientele thus having a much higher residual value granted and quick sales when time comes”. The interior is characterized by a three passengers’ bench AFT facing and three independent forward-facing seats and by various liners options, from a gorgeous modern VIP version to the most complete EMS or Multi Role panels. A so called “split base”, which allows the installation of an articulating stretcher, can be secured to the bench in very few minutes to reconfigure a utility helicopter into medevac or, vice versa, a fully EMS configured helicopter into 6 pax utility. This option allows operators to cover new mission types and adds new possible revenue streams. A police/government option is also available to include special mission features. These new interiors configurations are added to the original EMS one, the lightest and more advanced EMS interior available on the type which recently was delivered for the first time to a US based operator. The advantages offered by AMS kit weight saving, particularly with IFR single engines, together with its complete features and customization available, makes the choice easy. “We are receiving an incredible response from the market, above our best plans” Girolin said “we are glad to be able to support our customers with their needs with products of excellence”.
