Airwolf Aerospace has announced the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Air Support Division is installing Airwolf’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)-approved (SR04637CH) True Blue Power TB17 advanced lithium-ion batteries for its new Airbus H125 helicopters.

The True Blue Power TB17 offers lower weight, powerful faster-cooler engine starts, an average eight-year life span, less maintenance, and excellent cold operating capabilities with its built-in heating system.

Airwolf Aerospace is an industry leader in lithium-ion helicopter battery installations, with more approved supplemental type certificates (STCs) than any other company.

Airwolf Aerospace lithium-ion STC kits are now FAA STC approved and in stock for the following helicopters. Foreign STC validations are expected imminently.

17 amp-hour, FAA-approved STC battery kits

  • Airbus H125/AS350, AS355, EC-120, H130/EC130
  • Bell 206A/B, 206L/L1/L3/L4
  • Enstrom 480B
  • Hiller UH-12E
  • MD Helicopters 369/500

20 amp-hour FAA next-generation battery STC kits

  • Airbus H125/AS350, AS355

“Airwolf Aerospace is pleased to be able to offer the LAPD the advantages of lithium power,” the company said in a statement. “Look for more Airwolf STCs for more helicopter applications and additional battery models soon.”
