(KABC) – A Riverside County Sheriff’s Department helicopter crew hoisted an injured rock climber after a 30-ft. fall May 18 in Idyllwild.

(KVOA) – A helicopter crew assisted emergency responders with hoisting two injured hikers May 20 from Tucson Mountain Park.

The company will provide various avionics and component upgrades for the Japan Ministry of Defense fleet of Mitsubishi H-60s. Japan has also selected Honeywell to support its new Boeing CH-47F program across several areas, including with the T55-714A engine.

Honeywell Aerospace Technologies has appointed the Australian division of Precision Aviation Group (PAG) as a distributor and service provider for its IntuVue RDR-7000 weather radar system on the Leonardo AW139 in the Asia–Pacific region.

The FAA is seeking comments on this proposed airworthiness directive (AD) through Jul. 7, 2025. It would supersede AD 2019-19-13, issued Oct. 21, 2019. The new AD would authorize additional part-numbered main-rotor gearboxes; change the requirement to determine the total hours of time-in-service for a certain freewheel shaft; require repetitive replacement of the main-rotor gearbox or the right-hand freewheel shaft; modify who can replace parts; and expand the limitations for parts installation.

(AIN) – Leonardo Helicopters will deliver one AW169 to its Indian distributor in September and the other next summer, the companies announced at this week’s 2025 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition in Geneva, Switzerland.

Boeing subsidiary Wisk Aero has signed a five-year contract to provide research for the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Air Traffic Management Exploration (ATM-X) project. The research seeks to advance IFR autonomous aircraft operations in the US National Airspace System.

The Australian government’s Department of Defence has issued an aviation safety investigation (ASI) report that identifies pilot spatial disorientation as the primary cause of the accident, which occurred during an international military training exercise.
