Final FAA AD: Bell Textron Canada 430 helicopters

This FAA airworthiness directive (AD) supersedes AD 2021-24-09, published in 2021. The new AD, which becomes effective May 13, requires similar actions while reducing the life limits and requiring replacement of the main-rotor pitch link assemblies with part-numbered assemblies.

VAI responds to NYC Council vote to severely restrict helicopter operations

In a move that Vertical Aviation International strongly opposes, the New York City Council on Apr. 24 passed Int. 0026-A, legislation that severely restricts nonessential helicopter operations at city-managed heliports and will ultimately prohibit all but fully electric-powered aircraft.

Proposed FAA AD: Airbus Helicopters Deutschland EC135 series, EC635 T2+, and MBB BK 117 C-2, D-2, and D-3 helicopters

This proposed airworthiness directive (AD) would require determining the total cycles of certain hoist boom assemblies, inspecting those assemblies, and, depending on the results, taking corrective action. The AD would also prohibit installing those assemblies unless certain requirements are met. These actions are specified in an AD from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency.

Proposed FAA AD: Airbus Helicopters Deutschland, various EC135 and EC635 T2+ helicopters

This proposed airworthiness directive (AD) would require inspecting the axial displacement of the tail-rotor driveshaft and, depending on the results, taking corrective actions, including inspecting the flexible couplings. This proposed AD would also prohibit installing a tail-rotor driveshaft unless certain procedures are followed. These actions are specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency AD.
