The OEM has released a new episode of its Climb Higher series that features retired US Army aviators Douglas Gabram and Tom Drew providing insights on military training.

The Level D full-flight simulator will serve operators of more than 25 existing Leonardo helicopters in Norway plus another 20 that will enter service by 2027, the OEM announced during this week’s EUROPEAN ROTORS 2025.

The new agreement calls for Joby Aviation, Red Sea Global (RSG), and The Helicopter Company (THC) to establish a sandbox to evaluate electric air taxi operations prior to the launch of commercial operations in Saudi Arabia.

The FAA is requesting comments by Jan. 5, 2026, on this airworthiness directive (AD), which would require replacement of the center-shaft assembly with a serviceable center-shaft assembly (either a shaft with another part number or the same part number with lower time-in-service hours). It would also prohibit installing a nonserviceable center-shaft assembly on any helicopter. The AD takes effect Dec. 8, 2025.

Reiser Simulation and Training and the Netherlands Aerospace Centre (NLR) will provide Airbus H225M training for Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) air and ground crews.

The Modern Skies Coalition released a statement of support Nov. 19 for proposed US House of Representatives bills that would ensure air traffic controllers and other FAA staff are paid in the event of a future government shutdown. “We strongly support Chairman Moran’s bill (and the House companion bills introduced by Representatives Cohen and Bean) to shield the FAA from funding lapses by allowing the agency to draw from the Airport and Airway Trust Fund during a shutdown,” the coalition says. “We also strongly support the bill introduced by Chairman Graves and Ranking Member Larsen which would draw on monies paid by aviation users to continue critical FAA functions.”

Airbus Helicopters has obtained a contract to deliver an undisclosed number of Flexrotor unmanned vertical takeoff and landing aircraft to the Uzbekistan government.
