VAI Daily Jan. 20, 2026 Proposed FAA AD: Safran Helicopter Engines Arrius 2F The FAA is accepting comments through Mar. 6, 2026, on this proposed airworthiness directive (AD), which would supersede AD 2024-24-02, released Nov. 25, 2024. The updated AD would continue to require removal of the affected fuel-control unit (FCU) from service and replacement with a serviceable part. It would also reduce the number of affected FCUs. VAI Daily Jan. 20, 2026 French Navy to add 6 Airbus VSR700 uncrewed aerial systems The French military has awarded a contract to Airbus Helicopters and Naval Group to provide a half dozen VSR700s for the French Navy, with operations planned to start in 2028. VAI Daily Jan. 20, 2026 Eve targets 2027 for initial operations of eVTOL aircraft Eve Air Mobility is building six conforming electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) prototypes for its flight-testing campaign after the first flight of its uncrewed full-scale eVTOL prototype in December 2025 at parent company Embraer’s facility in São Paulo, Brazil. Eve anticipates type certification, initial deliveries, and entry-into-service in 2027.
