VAI Daily Oct. 4, 2024 US Army selects Lift, Near Earth for modular payload unit (AIN) – Lift Aircraft has obtained a US Army Applications Laboratory contract to design a modular container that could be integrated with multiple air and ground vehicles to carry wounded troops and payloads such as medical supplies. VAI Daily Oct. 4, 2024 Final FAA AD: Bell 212, 412, 412CF, and 412EP This FAA airworthiness directive (AD), which requires replacing all steel-alloy barrel nuts with nickel-alloy barrel nuts, replacing or inspecting other tail-boom attachment point hardware, repetitively inspecting torque, and repetitively replacing tail-boom attachment bolts, becomes effective Nov. 8, 2024. It also prohibits the installation of steel-alloy barrel nuts.
