The Modern Skies Coalition, which comprises VAI and a broad group of other aviation stakeholders, released a statement Nov. 6 calling on the US Congress to end the shutdown of the federal government without delay, noting that “this prolonged shutdown has strained the aviation system and its dedicated workforce to unacceptable levels of stress and disruption.”

(Penobscot Bay Pilot) – Two helicopters from the Maine Forest Service assisted officials from Camden Hills State Park with transporting sections of two new shelters to the top of Bald Rock Mountain Nov. 5 in Lincolnville.

(WGN) – The Cook County Sheriff’s Office has started using its new helicopter in numerous ways, including patrolling Chicago-area expressways for drivers who illegally use the shoulder to go around traffic.

(CiberCuba) – The crew airlifted a woman who gave birth in a hard-to-reach rural area of Guantánamo Nov. 5 following Hurricane Melissa.

(Fox Weather) – A Jamaica Defence Force helicopter crew on a food-drop mission evacuated a stranded resident Nov. 2 from an area affected by Hurricane Melissa.

Founder Dave Bohonis has transitioned ownership of the Langley, British Columbia, Canada–based company to Jade Bohonis and Carly Terlon-Bohonis.

The company, part of Salus Aviation Group, has appointed Michiel Swanepoel to the role. Swanepoel’s previous roles include working for the South African Civil Aviation Authority and the Department of Transport.
